What a great Monday! I couldn't help but smile as I walked across campus. I even said hey to a couple random people, which was well received... I think its safe to say I had a positive impact on their days. Even if they were having an alright day I'm fully confident that I made it that much better. If I had a facebook I might have some new friend requests.
So this summer I was in-charge of the "Indepen-DANCE" at Kiawah... It was a great success. Everyone was dancing having a great time. I was on the mic spittin the ones and twos... At the end of the night we had a Kiawah Island Teen King and Queen. We had everyone circle up about 100 teens and then me and Kim Evans announced the King and Queen. As I crowned the king I told him "Congratulations, you'll remember this night for the rest of your life." Then I thought it would be a good idea to have the king and queen have a first dance. GREAT idea on my part, unfortunately the only slow song on my boss' ipod was "I'll make love to you" by Boys II Men. I was stalling as hard as I could but the teens were becoming unruly, so I did what anyone would do in my situation and played the song. Have a listen. In the middle of the song both my supervisors walked down and just shook their heads, they thought it was funny... I thought it was hilarious. And it didn't seem to phase the teens.
On top of the Boys II Men incident. When we were trying to get everyone to leave I got on the mic and said "Get your digits and get out" as I said it everyone stopped and stared at me. Apparently it sounded like I said "Grab your B****es and get out." haha welp thats it.
One more thing...
We had Real Life club tonight for YoungLife where Bill, Brent, Emily, and Lauren talked about how Christ has transformed their lives from when they were in high school until now. It was awesome to see the high school students really listening and taking in what the leaders were saying; and them being able to see even us as leaders don't have it all together; that we have struggles and have been in a lot of the same positions they are in now. I trust that the Lord spoke through what was said tonight at club, and am grateful for the position he has put me in to be able to speak truth and shine light into my high school friends lives.
ON TO TUESDAY!

This one's for the ladies
For those of you who don't know I'm an avid poet. My poems have been published and won awards. This is my most famous poem and a crowd favorite. It won me 2nd Place in the Una Esperenza talent show.
To The Girl In The Solarium
"Hey there, I don't mean to stare;
I see you there in the Solarium.
You with your friends,
Me by myself.
One of your friends said something funny,
You laugh... I laugh.
You look, We make eye contact;
I look away quickly, Hoping you didn't see me.
I think I strained my neck.
You walk by me and brush my shoulder;
Should I express my love now or wait till we're older?
Lets take it slow;
Maybe we could grab a cup of joe?
I wish you could only know the extent of my love."

Psalm 118:1-7
So I decided to do my own church this morning and this is what it looked like. This verse just fit right into what I've been learning lately:
Psalm 118:1-7
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
Let Israel say:
"His love endures forever."
Let the house of Aaron say:
"His love endures forever."
Let those who fear the Lord say:
"His love endures forever."
In my anguish I cried to the Lord,
and he answered by setting me free.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?
The Lord is with me; he is my helper.
I will look in triumph on my enemies.
I've been thinking a lot about what the future holds. I haven't been planning out my life or stressing over it, I've been reminding myself of the Lords promises. I've been learning to trust that the Lords plan for my life is far better than anything I could ever think up. The Lord is good and his love endures forever. I am starting to find peace in uncertainty, for what is uncertain to me is known by the Lord and his plans for me are to prosper me and plans for hope and a future.
Although I am uncertain in what my future holds I can trust that it is good. Although I may go through trials I can call on the name of the Lord who will answer me and set me free. There is a purpose for these trials, it is a way for the Lord to refine me, to make me pure, to draw me close to him. When I call out to him in these times of trial he will answer me and set me free.
The best part of being a Christian is knowing that the Lord is with us, we have to God of the Universe on our side! The Awe Factor of God (I've shown this video to my campaigners and during one of my YL talks) This is how BIG the God we serve is. The God that wants and desires to be in a relationship with us, to dwell inside us. He is HUGE and his Holy Spirit is living inside of us, helping lead us and guide us. This God is leading us by going in front of us planning the way, and guiding us by walking along side us, helping us when we stumble... pretty sweet, think about it, its a cool mental pic. The Lord is our helper, he has already given us triumph over our enemies. What do we have to worry about?
With all this said, I am looking forward to seeing what the Lord has planned for me. Its crazy to think about how good he is. Don't get so caught up in his promises for tomorrow that you miss his blessings today. Live in his love and promises, radiate his love to others, and know that his plans for you are good. Be filled and know that he is God.

Reasons for a Blog
I think I should write a book. -->I recently deleted my facebook for the time being, I guess you could call it a fast of sorts. With all my free time I've been reading Blue Like Jazz, and Absolute Surrender. To take the place of my facebook I considered getting a twitter, writing a book, or having a blog. The only problems are I have sworn off twitter, and I don't know if I have the patience to sit and write a whole book. Also I already had a blog I had to make for my CIS class, a class I dropped after doing the first assignment... making a blog. So here I am, sitting in Greensboro the proud new owner of my own person blog. I hope you enjoy.
This just came to me though... Maybe I will start a "story of the day".
As the Holiday Season is getting underway it reminds me of New Years a couple years ago. Myself, Matt Campbell, Harry Marks, Blake Robbins, as well as others... We planned on having a shindig at the Manor, so while we were at Harris Teeter I just really wanted to have a really classy party. So what other way to do that than with wine and cheese, or in our case sparkling cider and cheese. So we stocked up on sparkling cider, plastic wine glasses, crackers, and cheeses. Around $100 later we were getting into the car when I tried to say something witty but all that came out was "this party went from alright... to ALRIGHT!" Harry loved it and quoted it the rest of the night quoted me.
Back at the Manor to continue our "classy new years party" we stacked our plastic wine glasses in a pyramid and proceeded to pour the sparkling cider on top making a fountain (a trick me most definitely learned from some rap video). Besides or pyramid we all had fake mustaches that we wore for the night. My favorite memory from the night would have to be when we were going to sleep. Me and Matt Campbell pulled 2 couches together infront of the fire place and draped sheets from the couches to the fireplace to hold in as much heat as possible. Before we went to sleep we filled the fireplace full of wood and let it burn. I won't say I slept great, but I will say I slept GREAT!
Thats one of my stories and I'm sticking to it. Sorry if you feel like I've wasted your time.
I've been praying peace over my life and trust in the Lords plan for my life. I hope that you find the Lords peace in your own life and that you are able to trust in his holy and perfect plan for your life.
